Donegal County Council delivers a number of schemes supporting the development of the tourism sector in Donegal.
Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme 2021 Now Open
Donegal County Council is inviting community groups to apply for funding under the Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme. This scheme will fund works that will enhance tourism product offering in various locations in the county including for example signage, improved access to popular visitor sites and attractions such as waterfalls, heritage sites, scenic spots, picnic areas, beaches etc.
Deadline for applications is 28th April 2021 at 4:00pm.
Outdoor Seating & Accessories for Tourism & Hospitality Business Scheme
This scheme provides financial support to tourism and hospitality businesses, in our town centres, to purchase or upgrade equipment to provide additional outdoor seating and, therefore, increase their outdoor dining capacity for the summer of 2021. This scheme is currently open.
North West Tourism Product Development Programme
This scheme aims to help Tourism & Hospitality businesses in the Donegal, Derry City and Strabane Council Regions to develop strong product offerings that will enhance the visitor experiences. Supports include one to one and group mentoring opportunities and business development workshops. A grant of €2,500 is available to participating businesses for items or services that will help them to re-open, develop new products or take advantage of new opportunities.
